Enerven welcomes record-breaking apprentice intake
This milestone included welcoming electrical apprentices for the first time also, adding to our well-established programs in distribution and transmission.
The new apprentices will join teams across different areas of Enerven, including distribution, transmission and electrical and they will join 15 current apprentices, including three additional electricians taking part in the Electrical to Powerline accelerated program.
CEO of Enerven, Richard Amato highlighted the importance of investing in the next generation and the positive step forward in improving diversity across the organisation.
“Our apprentices are the future of Enerven. Investing in their development isn’t just about training individuals – it’s about strengthening the energy industry as a whole.”
“It was great to meet them this morning and see their enthusiasm firsthand. I’m especially proud that we continue to attract a diverse group of apprentices, including more women stepping into these roles. The energy sector is evolving, and it’s great to see our workforce reflect that change.”
General Manager Operations, Matthew Park echoed these sentiments, recognising the value of hands-on learning and career growth within the business.
“An apprenticeship at Enerven isn’t just about learning a trade—it’s about becoming part of a team, gaining real experience, and developing skills that will set you up for life. It’s fantastic to see such a strong group coming through, and I’m particularly excited that we’re welcoming our first electrical apprentices. We look forward to supporting them as they grow.”
At Enerven, apprentices are an essential part of our workforce, learning from experienced mentors and gaining the skills needed to contribute to the future of the energy sector.

We wish our new apprentices all the best as they embark on this exciting journey.
