The customer

The Culshaw Group of companies was founded by John Culshaw in 1986, and incorporates several properties across South Australia, including a restaurant and function facility at the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel in the City of Adelaide. Since their launch in 1986, the Majestic Hotels have won numerous tourism and hospitality awards, and they proudly support local businesses, employment, artists and other suppliers. They are also Platinum Members of BrandSA and members of Adelaide Convention Bureau and South Australian Tourism Industry Council. The Culshaw group also supports an initiative called Carbon Neutral Adelaide. This initiative gathers the local community together to create a focus on carbon reduction.

The opportunity

As a large company within the hospitality industry that spans multiple business locations, The Culshaw Group’s requirements for electricity can be overwhelming. Running large-scale heating and cooling systems, powering hotel guest rooms and function areas, and operating a popular busy restaurant: the list is endless, and all elements use a significant amount of power to ensure seamless operation. The Culshaw Group wanted a solution that would bring them the benefits of saving power, whilst enabling them to contribute to carbon reduction across their properties.

The solution

After a period of review across each of their locations, Enerven was able to provide a solution that ticked both these boxes. We developed systems for each of their sites, helping them to navigate the solar landscape with ease and transparency throughout the entire process.

John Culshaw, Managing Director, was impressed with the outcome of the project, saying, “Enerven have just completed five large PV installations on five of our commercial properties, which were technically challenging.
