The Light Regional Council borders the famed Barossa Valley, the Town of Gawler and is located to the north of the greater metropolitan area of Adelaide. The region enjoys the benefits normally associated with the Barossa Valley together with the richness in mining heritage and premier farming country.
Encompassing the townships of Kapunda, Freeling, Greenock, Roseworthy and Wasleys, and the suburb of Hewett, the Light Regional Council is a progressive, growth, regional Council. It takes in a diverse and thriving area of broad acre farming,
viticultural areas and appealing rural-urban living options.
The Council continues to attract important viticultural and agricultural development to the area, along with associated support industries. Significant industrial growth contributes to creating additional opportunities for employment and economic development in the area.
Light Regional Council was looking to upgrade their lighting through out the Town Centre precinct in Kapunda. Having vast experience in similar LED street lighting roll-out projects, Enerven was invited, by the Council’s contractor, to tender for the Main Street Lighting Upgrade Project.
Enerven Public Lighting group replaced the existing (x15) existing colonial style post top luminaires, which were utilising old discharge lighting technology, with 155W energy efficient LED fittings. The new energy efficient luminaires still retained the old colonial style of the fittings they replaced. This ensured the character & ambiance of the main street precinct was retained.
