"The Lincoln Gap Wind Farm project will deliver 212MW of renewable energy, which is enough to power 155,000 home for more than twenty-five years.
ElectraNet delivers safe, affordable and reliable solutions to power South Australian homes and businesses. Their transmission network is a crucial part of the electricity supply chain and is used to safely deliver electricity throughout South Australia including regional and remote areas. ElectraNet specialise in asset and project management, contract management and their clients include SA Power Networks, Enerven and large directly connected clients.
Capitalising on Northern South Australia’s extensive wind resources, Nexif Energy Australia Pty Ltd achieved financial close for development of the Lincoln Gap Wind Farm in November 2017. With the wind farm comprising 59 Senvion wind turbines and a 10MW grid-scale battery, the project will delivery 212MW of renewable energy. This is enough to power around 155,000 homes for more than 25 years, making a significant contribution to Australia’s renewable energy target.
Enerven is proud to be delivering the infrastructure required for this project to connect to the grid and deliver clean, green energy for years to come.
Enerven was engaged to deliver the connecting infrastructure for the Lincoln Gap Wind Farm, including the new Corraberra Hill Substation, along with cut-in modifications to the existing transmission line and the necessary remote end modifications to the Davenport and Cultana substations.
The proposed Corraberra Hill substation is to be located approximately 28km south west of Pt Augusta, South Australia, providing a connection point into ElectraNet’s transmission network for the Lincoln Gap wind farm with a cut-in to the existing Davenport to Cultana 275 kV line (F1935).
The substation consists of a three circuit breaker mesh, designed so as to be expandable to an ultimate layout of three fully populated circuit-breaker and-a-half diameters. It will connect into ElectraNet’s telecommunications network via independent OPGW paths to Cultana Substation and Davenport substation.
The scope of works includes substation civil, structural, primary plant, secondary systems, telecommunication works, OPGW installation and 275 kV transmission line terminal tower works.
